NioGold Mining Corporation (TSX-V: NOX) is a Canadian junior mineral exploration company focused on gold in the Abitibi region of Northern Quebec. The company has a large land package encompassing over 120 sq. km in the prolific Val d'Or and Malartic Gold Mining camps. Historic production from the camps amount to 25 million ounces of gold. NioGold is developing the Marban Block deposits with 960,000 oz gold (43-101 report of January 2010) with 4 drills operating. A new resource estimate is expected in Q2, 2012 and should have a substantial increase in resources. Aurizon Mines is funding a $20,000,000 drilling program and then will make a cash payment estimated to be $35,000,000+ to NioGold to earn-in a 50% interest in this project. NioGold continues to fund exploration of the remaining land package and a drill is turning at the Ludovick discovery on the Malartic block property adjoining Osisko’s Canadian Malartic Mine (12,700,000 oz gold).
